We offer dedicated therapeutic puppetry workshops for individuals and groups. Therapeutic puppetry explores the therapeutic and healing properties inherent in puppetry and puppet craft in order to promote wellbeing. The work draws on the creative and performative elements of puppetry and puppet construction, mask-making, myth, storytelling, symbol, and metaphor. The therapeutic process draws out clients’ in-the-moment inspiration, spontaneity, and creativity as they follow their own compass.
We engage in therapeutic puppetry from a broad dramatherapy, educational, and communication platform adhering to the safe, confidential, and ethical tenets of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and The British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth) codes of practice.
The Awesome Puppet Company’s founder and artistic director, Daniel Stolfi, is a medical anthropologist and an HCPC-registered Arts Therapist (UK).
